We love a Peony wedding bouquet here at RMW HQ and we were not disappointed when we saw Claire & Drew’s floral arrangements, swoon! This Isle of Wight wedding proves that you don’t have to travel too far to have a gorgeous wedding next to the sea. Set on the Bembridge coast where Drew proposed, Westcliff is the most picturesque pink house sitting right on the beachfront providing a beautiful backdrop to the days celebrations. It not only stole the couple’s heart but it’s stealing a little bit of ours too!
WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE
“From the outset we knew that we wanted a venue by the sea. We live by the sea, Drew proposed by the sea and so we wanted to get married right by it. Bembridge was the obvious choice for us – my family beach hut is there and we have so many happy memories on Forelands beach. Including Drew’s proposal! My family is from the Island and we try and go regularly. While on the hunt for somewhere unique my sister came across Westcliff. Westcliff is a stunning pink house with lawns that run into the sea. It had never been used as a wedding venue, but through Harrison Bristow, we contacted the owner and asked whether we had their blessing to have our marquee reception there. We are so happy they said yes – Westcliff is now part of our family history and we cannot wait to return. “ – Claire & Drew
Peony Wedding Bouquet
The peony wedding bouquet was part of this true family affair celebration with everyone chipping in to make the day memorable. From clean, modern stationery created by the Bride’s Brother-in-Law’s Company Bison Bison Graphic Design, to her Mother and Sister creating the most delectable floral arrangements, buttonholes and flower hoops which hung in the marquee at Westcliffe house in the Isle of Wight. Making all the details that somewhat more special and truly sentimental!
INSPIRATION & STYLING
“So much of our styling was influenced by my brother in law, who co-owns and runs Bison Bison graphic design. We shared our vision with him – ocean colours, island motifs and clean, modern design. Using our ideas he created the most beautiful wedding invitations for us along with the seating plan, food and bar menus. For the tables we used Bison Bison’s menu and matched it with a scallop shell, a sprig of rosemary and simple kraft paper luggage tags, handwritten for place names.” – Claire & Drew
Every angle of this wedding is so photogenic, from the pink house to the sea views and empty beach, it’s clear to see why the couple chose this venue. And thank goodness Jason Mark Harris Photography was there to capture the day perfectly . He is, in fact, one of our recommended suppliers from our handpicked directory, which you can browse here to find amazing suppliers for your wedding too!
