An opulent affair in the stunning landscapes of this South African wedding venue, with beautiful flowers, a polaroid guest book and multi-coloured bridesmaids in a colour palette that resembled expensive jewels. The Bride wore an a-line Elbeth Gillis dress with embellished flower detail, that against the inkings on her body, looked truly sensational, elegance with a rock and roll twist! And, of course, not forgetting the Groom, who looked just as dashing in his classic tux with a velvet twist! DIY decor projects and a sherry station, at the Bride’s request, made sure that the day was totally memorable and enjoyable for the guests…as well as no empty glasses!
WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE
“We’ve received so many compliments from family and friends about all the personal touches our wedding had. To this end we were very happy because it was always a priority that our wedding day be about our loved ones just as much as it was meant to be about us!” – Kailee & Greig
Polaroid Guest Book
It’s safe to say the Bride was not afraid to get her hands dirty and get stuck into some DIY for the wedding, especially the Polaroid guest book that doubled up as a seating chart and favours. However, the hard work paid off in the end as it became a talking point of the wedding and something the guests remembered! And we can see why – such a unique idea!
“Our DIY project that stole the show and gave that special personal touch, was our “Find Your Seat” chart/favour. We stalked our guests’ Facebook and Instagram and printed their best profile pic. We then handwrote personal thank-you messages on the back of the photo. Wendy (Indigo & Ivory) then dealt with many confusing emails and eventually designed the perfect boards. We then sat together and taped velvet and gold ribbons to the boards. I had spray painted mini pegs gold to then peg the photo to the ribbon. The table numbers were written on the front.” – Kailee & Greig
INSPIRATION & STYLING
“I like to think myself and Greig aren’t your run of the mill couple – I didn’t want a clean, pretty, white wedding. I wanted a more dark and moody feel and as we were approaching winter, I wanted to incorporate some rich, jewel colours. This came through in the bridesmaid’s dresses – as pops of colour and in the flowers. I also wanted a contrast of fabrics so bridesmaids in satin, Greig’s suit jacket, the groomsmen’s bow ties in velvet, along with the napkins, then navy tulle runners on the tables. We really wanted to create an easy-going, fun vibe. Our guest’s enjoyment meant so much to us.” – Kailee & Greig
It’s always lovely to have a guest book so you can look back and read all the lovely things your nearest and dearest have written, however, if you have been inspired by this polaroid guest book for Kailee & Greig’s nuptials, then take a look at our alternative guest book guide for some other quirky ideas!
